Profile of ITTO PD397/06 Rev.3(I)

The basis of this project activity is the Project Agreement signed between the ITTO Executive Director and the Forestry Service of South Kalimantan Province (Dinas Kehutanan Provinsi Kalimantan selatan) Indonesia in January 2008.

The objective of the project is to formulate the wood-based industry master plan for South Kalimantan province which could provide guidance and policy direction in developing sustainable wood-based industry in this area.

The activities are the following:
1.Development of Database related to wood based industries
2.Identification constraints and opportunities in sustainable sources of timber for the wood based industry in South Kalimantan
3.Identification the flow data of raw material from other district and other provinces
4.Development Map of flow of raw material supplying the wood industry
5.Development of Draft of the master plan analyzed and identified comply with national and regional (Kalimantan) master plan


TOR of National Expert



a. Position : Consultant for Identification of supply and development of map of the wood- based industry in South Kalimantan (output 1.1)
Qualification and experience:
The consultant should have post graduate degree in Forestry and having background or knowledge on wood science, wood-based industry activities and supply-demand analysis. Having work experience in forest industrial at South Kalimantan province is very useful. Fluency in English.

Responsibilities:
The consultant /expert will be responsible to:
1.collect data wood-base industry in South Kalimantan;
2.Identifying supply and mapping sources of timber for the wood-based industry in South Kalimantan;
3.Analyzing and reviewing the government regulation;
4.Preparing report within the period of assignment.
Technical report and documentation must be presented in the project meeting.

Duration of employment : 1-3 months
Location : South Kalimantan


b. Position : Consultant for drafting master plan (output 1.2)
Qualification and Experience:
The incumbent should have degree or post graduate degree in wood industry with five years experience. Having background or knowledge on database system and Information Technology on wood industry, and having work experience in industrial at south Kalimantan province and development of mater plan in wood industry are very useful. Fluency in English.

Responsibilities:
a.Develop a task-force of forest industry master plan in South Kalimantan province.
b.Analyzing and reviewing supply demand in forest industrial at South Kalimantan.
c.Preparing progress report.

Duration of employment : 1-3 months
Location : South Kalimantan.

c. Position: Consultant for development strategy and mechanism for master plan implementation (output 1.4).
Qualification and Experience :
The consultant should have post graduated degree in wood science/wood industry with five years work experience. Having work experience in industrial at South Kalimantan province is very useful.

Responsibilities :
Developing strategy and mechanism for master plan implementation.
Analyzing and reviewing the strategy.
Preparing progress report.

Duration of employment : 1-3 months
