There are only 17 units of Wood-based of Primary Industry in South Kalimantan left with the production capacity of 6000 m3/year in the year of 2007.
In the year of 2008 , there are only 6 units left with the capacity of 6000 m3/year, other industries stopped their operation since it's hard to find the raw material.

With the assumption of the average productivity about 50% in average, the need of the log will be 6.238424,54 m3/year. Meanwhile, the wood production in South Kalimantan only cover 593.366,66 m3/year or about 9,5%.
Most of the raw material come from : Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Maluku, Papua etc.
What kind of typical industry that would be suitable for the sustainable wood-based industry in South Kalimantan?
